MAHAFFEY — A spaghetti and meatball dinner will be held Sunday, March 17, from noon to 4 p.m. at Mahaffey Firehall.
Proceeds from the meal will be used to replace baseball equipment lost to flooding on Sept. 11, 2018 at Scout Community Park, Mahaffey.
“We lost everything we had stored in the concession stand. Besides kitchen equipment that included all our helmets, catcher’s equipment, bats, balls and other items used by our kid’s teams,” said Mahaffey Playground Association President Tyler Byers. Byers estimated the damages at approximately $10,000.
“We are really hoping the community will come out to get lunch and support youth recreation,” he explained.
The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for kids age 12 and younger for the meal that includes spaghetti, meatballs, bread, dessert and beverage.
There will also be a basket raffle and a 50/50 raffle.
