State Police at Clearfield
On June 12 at 7:32 p.m., PSP was contacted by Bigler Minit Mart in Woodland for a customer attempting to steal a cigarette lighter. Police arrived on scene and took on juvenile male into custody. The juvenile was releases to his mother. No charges were filed.
On June 11 at 4:35 p.m., police received a report of a theft of a utility trailer that was stolen from a yard near SR 53 and Nittany Minit Mart in Decatur Township. The trailer is about 15 feet in length and black in color with a wooden plank deck. This trailer is used for hauling a lawn mower or ATV. The trailer was stolen sometime between the days of Sunday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 11. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Southern at PSP Clearfield at 857-3800.
Officers conducted a vehicle stop on June 13 at 1:32 a.m., in the area of Lawhead Street and Washington Avenue due to an equipment violation. Upon making contact with the occupants inside the vehicle, it was discovered that one of the occupants was providing a false name and date of birth.
The male was ultimately identified as Shawn Moriarity 38 of Clearfield and it was discovered that he had an active warrant through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department. Upon taking Moriarity into custody and searching him, he was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine and a small amount of Marijuana. Moriarity is being housed in the Clearfield County Jail on the warrants and more charges were filed and are pending.
State Police at DuBois
PSP responded to a crash on June 4 at 8:21 p.m. in Washington Township, Jefferson County. This crash occurred as a 2018 International Harvester driven by Isaac L. Smalls, 31, of Beaufort S.C., was traveling west on Morre Road. Smalls attempted to turn around in a private driveway and struck the mailbox causing damage.
As Smalls was fleeing the scene, a neighbor snapped a photo of Smalls’ license plate using her cell phone. Through cooperation with the trucking company in this investigation, Smalls was identified and cited.
State Police at Punxsutawney
On May 27 at 10:30 a.m., PSP investigated a report of criminal mischief at 4405 Church Rd., Canoe Township. The actor(s) spray painted the letters “KKK” on William North, 35 of Rossiter, mailbox. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact PSP Punxsutawney.

PSP responded to a crash on June 2 at 10:27 p.m. in Marion Township, Centre County. This crash occurred as a 1009 Ford Focus driven by Lauren M. Reese, 34, of Bellefonte, was traveling West on I-80 in the area of mile marker 161. While traveling in the right lane, the front driver side bumper impacted a deer standing on the roadway. After impact, Reese came to a controlled final rest along the northern shoulder of the roadway. No injuries reported. Reese was trowed from the scene.
On May 27 at 9:40 p.m., Kaylee Stiles 24 of Philipsburg, was stopped for traveling the wrong way on a one way street. Subsequent investigation indicated that Stiles was operating her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. After a legal blood draw at Mt. Nittany Hospital, she was taken to Centre County Jail for processing.
After being processed, her husband, Clint Stiles drove to Centre County Jail to pick her up. After investigation it was indicated that he too was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also taken to Mt. Nittany Hospital for a legal blood draw. Both Kaylee and Clint Stiles blood alcohol concentration was over the legal limit. Charges will be filed through District Court.
