SYKESVILLE - The search for Joey Lynn Offutt, 33, who was initially reported missing Thursday, is continuing. Ms. Offutt has not been located since the 4 a.m. fire that destroyed her home in Sykesville.

Pennsylvania State Police, in the course of their investigation into the fire that consumed a large portion of the home, discovered the remains of an infant inside the residence.

The results of the autopsy conducted Friday are not yet complete, as a result, troopers have not identified the child and the manner of death has not been determined.

Out of concern for Ms. Offutt's welfare, the state police wish to locate her. Ms. Offutt is 5 feet, 3 inches tall with a thin build. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Ms. Offutt was officially declared missing and has been entered into the National Crime Information Center Database.

Yesterday morning troopers located Ms. Offutt's vehicle along Waupelani Drive in State College. Troopers have not been able to locate Ms. Offutt.

Anyone with information about Ms. Offutt or who comes in contact with her is asked to call the state police at DuBois at 371-4652 or by dialing 911.
