Weekend Events is a weekly feature of The Progress published to alert readers about events planned by nonprofit organizations or events that benefit the community. All events are open to the public. The following events are planned this weekend in Progressland.

Art shows
Susquehanna River Art Center's art exhibit on display at Clearfield Hospital, first floor, will run through Saturday. Those interested in purchasing a painting or photograph should contact the artist to make arrangements. A percentage of sales are donated to the Clearfield Hospital Auxiliary by the artists. Membership applications for the art club are available at Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, Clearfield.
Susquehanna River Art Center's winter show is on display at Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, Clearfield, through Feb. 3. Many paintings are for sale and a percentage of sales are donated to the library by the artist. If interested in purchasing a painting or photography, contact information is listed on a card beside the artwork. SRAC membership applications are available at the library.

Christian rock band Not Ashamed will perform at Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre, 112 E. Locust St., Clearfield, Friday at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Spaghetti dinner
Wallaceton Fire Co. will hold a spaghetti dinner Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the firehall. The meal includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, roll, drink and dessert. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children. Takeouts are available. Free local delivery is available by calling 342-7129.

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held at Osceola Mills Free and Accepted Masons Lodge No. 515, located at Lingle and Coal streets, Osceola Mills, Saturday from 7-10 a.m. The meal includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, toast, juice and coffee. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children. Proceeds will go to the Trinity United Methodist Church Shoe Bank.
A pancake and sausage breakfast with Joe's sausage will be served Saturday from 6-11 a.m. at the Grampian firehall. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and younger. Proceeds benefit Grampian-Penn-Bloom Fire Co.
A pancake and sausage breakfast, sponsored by the ladies of Mosquito Creek, will be served Saturday from 7-10 a.m. at the Mosquito Creek Sportsman's club. The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, applesauce, coffee or orange juice. Prices are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and younger. Corn distribution will also be this day from 8-11 a.m.; corn cards will be on sale for $15.
Goshen Township Sportsmen will host a breakfast Saturday from 7-10 a.m. at the Goshen Township building. The meal includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice for $6. Club memberships and corn cards will be available at this time.
Cooper Township Sportsmen will hold its first corn sale and breakfast Saturday at the clubhouse in Winburne. The first two breakfast dates will have a two-bag limit of corn at $5 per bag. You must be present to receive corn and have a current membership. Breakfast will be served from 7-10 a.m., with prices of $7 for adults and $4 for children. It includes two eggs (your choice), ham, bacon or sausage, home fries, toast, juice and coffee. Proceeds benefit fish stocking and game feeds.

Karthaus Volunteer Fire Co. will present its biannual free concert, featuring Back Woods Revival, Saturday from 7-9:30 p.m. at the firehall. There will be food available, including burgers, fries, hot dogs, hot sausage, desserts and soup. A 50-50, Chinese auction and door prizes will also be offered.

Sneaker closet
The Sneaker Closet at Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Children from birth through 18 years can receive a new pair of sneakers, new pair of socks, stuffed animal and book. There will also be boots, mittens, winter hats and scarves. Children must have their Access medical card, be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be present to receive sneakers and boots. In case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled. Spaghetti dinner
The youth group of Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, invites the public to its spaghetti dinner Saturday from 5-7 p.m. The price is $7 each. Takeouts will be available at 4:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Tickets are available by calling the church office at 765-9222.

The Knights of Columbus will host a full breakfast Sunday from 8-11:30 a.m. at the K of C building, located at Sixth Street and Arnold Avenue, Clearfield. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger.
Wallaceton Fire Co. will have breakfast Sunday from 7-10 a.m. The cost is $6 and the meal includes toast, eggs, pancakes, home fries, bacon or sausage, coffee and juice.
Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785 will hold a breakfast Sunday from 7-10 a.m. at the post home. The cost is $5.

Stuffed chicken dinner
A stuffed chicken breast dinner will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Columbia firehall, Osceola Mills. The meal includes stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, salad bar for dine-in only, and dessert. Takeouts and deliveries are available by calling 339-5046. Prices are $10 for adults and $7 for children. The dinner is sponsored by the fire company.

Shotgun shoot
Glendale Sportsmen's Club will hold a shotgun shoot Sunday at 2 p.m. at the clubhouse, 2732 Black Elk Road, Irvona. The cost is $15 for 10 rounds. Two meat prizes are awarded each round. The club will furnish the shells, 12 gauge or 20 gauge. For more information, call Jack at 672-5903 or Ken at 672-5503.
