Police conduct narcotics investigation

BROOKVILLE - Troop C Vice Unit and members of Jefferson County Drug Task Force began an investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in the Brookville area Aug. 21, 2013. The investigation revealed Michael Andrew Novak, 22, of Brookville, April Ann Novak, 43, of Brookville and Dean William Paige, 32, of Blacklick were manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine throughout Jefferson County.
According to police, numerous purchases of methamphetamine were made from Paige and Michael Novak over the past four months. On Thursday, a search warrant was served at 9747 Richardsville Road in Brookville and an active methamphetamine lab was located inside the garage of a residence. April Novak and Paige were located within the garage.
All three individuals were taken into custody on arrest warrants. They were transported to Magisterial District Judge Gregory Bazylak's office and arraigned. They were each placed in Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $50,000 straight cash bail.
The investigation continues.
