United Way campaign raises 64 percent of goal
Wednesday, October 23, 2013
By Wendy Lynn Brion Staff Writer During yesterday's report meeting for Clearfield Area United Way's fundraising campaign a total of $27,683 was raised, bringing the new total raised so far to 64 percent of the $245,500 goal.
"Keep those donations coming in," said Michele Fannin, campaign chairwoman. She noted that with cuts in state and federal funding, the 25 local member agencies are in desperate need of the help United Way can provide.
It was also noted that there have been concerns with the new PayPal option for pledging. CAUW cannot access someone's account if they sign a pledge card. To use PayPal, you must access from the CAUW website, www.clearfieldareaunitedway.org.
CAUW is still distributing employee packets and has been doing presentations about CAUW and the member agencies.
Some upcoming events include "Retail Day with United Way" events with Suzie's Fashions in Hyde and Clearfield Pharmacy.
The dates for those events are to be announced. CAUW is also working on change drives with schools.
Any restaurant interested in holding a Dine-Around event for United Way should contact the office at 765-6521.
