Drug sweep yields arrests
Thursday, May 30, 2013
PUNXSUTAWNEY - Four men are behind bars on drug delivery charges and more arrests are expected after a nine-month investigation by the state police at Punxsutawney.
Troop C Commanding Officer Bernard Petrovsky announced Punxsutawney residents Rodrick Brown, Ryan Brownlee and Kenneth Ball and Pittsburgh resident Donald Kelley were incarcerated this week as a preliminary step toward a drug sweep yesterday.
The investigation moved closer to a conclusion with the sweep conducted by Troopers throughout the Troop C area along with law enforcement officers from Punxsutawney Police Department. Further contacts will ensue and likely result in additional individuals being charged with similar offenses.
At the present time, police have 10 individuals in custody for which warrants have been issued. The arrest warrants are related to charges associated with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug Device and Cosmetic Act. The drugs that have been identified in the investigation are heroin, marijuana, prescription medication and molly. Molly is a form of MDMA more commonly known as ecstasy.
The following Jefferson County residents are the accused associated with the drug sweep: Tara Keller, Kayla Stiver, Lisa Rugh, Mark McCullough, David Weaver, Shayla Dicello, David Blose, Ty Kelly, Thomas Anderson and Megan Meredith. Stiver, McCullough, Weaver, Dicello, Blose and Kelly are in custody.
