PMEA to hold advocacy day in Harrisburg March 13
Monday, February 4, 2013
HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Music Educators Asso-ciation announces it will hold its second Music Education Advo-cacy Day at the Capitol in Harrisburg March 13.
During this event, PMEA individual and corporate sponsor members, along with community members from school districts across the state, will have the opportunity to listen to remarks from senators and representatives, as well as attend concerts throughout the day. Most importantly, they will meet with their legislators to share the core message of the importance and value of a kindergarten through grade 12 sequential, standards-based arts curriculum taught by certified arts educators.
Attendees are expected to arrive at approximately 9 a.m., with the main presentation taking place at 10:30 a.m. in the Main Rotunda. Instrumental and vocal performances will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, call Abi Young, director of meetings and membership, at abiyoung@pmea.net or 610-562-9757.
