State police at Clearfield
In an act of criminal mischief yesterday at 9:28 a.m., someone broke a window out of a Philipsburg woman's vehicle while it was parked on Horton Street in Decatur Township.

Yesterday at approximately 3:40 p.m., a one-vehicle accident occurred on state Route 253 in Gulich Township when Joshua Wojtowich of Beccaria was traveling north. He lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway, it traveled across the south lane and off the west shoulder, struck a dirt embankment and overturned onto its roof. The vehicle came to rest approximately 25 feet off the west shoulder facing south. Wojtowich was transported to Clearfield Hospital by Houtzdale Emergency Medical Services for treatment of minor injuries.
Ramey Fire Co. also assisted at the scene.

Clearfield Boro
Officers assisted a driver who locked their keys in their vehicle along West Front Street.

Officers handled a parking complaint along West Second Avenue in which a vehicle has been parked on private property for an extended period of time.

Lawrence Township
Increased patrols will be provided in the Mount Joy and Pifer roads areas following a report of someone in a pickup truck shooting a deer along the road.

Theft and criminal mischief was found to be a civil property dispute between two individuals involved in a divorce proceeding.

In an incident of fraud, an area man was contacted by a woman who claimed she needed money for legal issues.

Police collected fingerprints as part of an ongoing theft investigation.

A subpoena was served for an upcoming court proceeding.

The elderly individual from another jurisdiction who reported an individual is taking advantage of his situation was advised to contact the appropriate police agency and Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc.

Motorists involved in a two-vehicle accident exchanged information prior to police arrival.

The disabled tractor-trailer at exit 120 off of state Route 879 was removed from the road.

A harassment by communication incident was reported to police.

State police at DuBois
The investigation continues in the theft of a 2009 red Dodge Ram 1500 regular cab and 8-foot bed pickup truck with a matching red cap and chrome wheels from a Penfield man's garage along Bennetts Valley Highway overnight or early this morning. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 371-4652.

Harassment charges were filed against a 15-year-old girl who allegedly punched a 15-year-old boy in the head repeatedly at Jefferson County-DuBois Area Vocational Technical School Dec. 10.

On Jan. 12, a DuBois woman was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct following an argument with a Gibsonia man outside a Grant Street apartment in Reynoldsville. He got in his vehicle and was about to leave when she allegedly reached through an open window and grabbed his face and scratched him.

Sandy Township
On Friday, a Juniata Street resident reported his dog ran away.

The Maple Avenue resident who reported receiving a phone call from a man claiming to be a grandson requesting money Friday hung up when the resident began asking personal questions.

Walmart security reported reviewing store security video and found the man involved in a strong-armed robbery Jan. 11 was also involved in two other thefts at the store in which he stole 47-inch TVs both times. He is a white man, between 6 feet, 3 inches, and 6 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 280 pounds with a beard. There is a second person who appears to be the getaway driver of a dark-colored Chevrolet sport utility vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 1-800-689-3535.

A Brockport woman lost control of her vehicle on Larkeytown Road Friday, it traveled into the other lane and into a ditch then struck rock beds and several trees before coming to rest.
She was extricated from her vehicle and transported to Altoona Regional Health System.

Charges were filed against a DuBois woman after she was caught by Walmart employees attempting to steal $209.72 worth of DVDs Friday.

The investigation continues after charges were filed against Franklin Reed of Altoona for felony counts of retail theft after he was seen by Walmart employees taking five computers at two different times from the store. The second time he was stopped by employees and taken into custody and charged by police. Another white man was seen taking computers with Reed, and has not yet been found.

Following a traffic stop for driving in a suspicious manner Saturday, a Penfield man failed field sobriety tests and was taken to DuBois Regional Medical Center for chemical testing.

The unwanted man reportedly in a Hanes Drive woman's home Saturday was gone when police arrived.

No injuries were reported Saturday when a Homer City woman failed to stop in time and her vehicle struck a vehicle driven by a Wyoming man, who was stopped at Industrial Drive and Bee Line Highway.

The investigation continues after a Lincoln Drive resident reported someone used a BB gun to shoot out a window at his home Sunday.

Officers are investigating an incident in which a boy punched an 11-year-old girl in the face several times at a birthday party at Dr. Doolittles Sunday.

Curwensville Boro
Yesterday, an incident of domestic violence occurred. A Curwensville man was arraigned on charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct and placed in Clearfield County Jail on $25,000 bail.
He had injuries to his face and arms and was taken to Clearfield Hospital due to injuries he suffered, as the couple's dog attacked him while he was assaulting the woman.

Prescription medication was missing following a reported burglary Friday evening at a Curwensville Commons residence.

The person who reportedly overdosed along Pennsylvania Avenue was taken to Clearfield Hospital for evaluation.

State police at Philipsburg
Derek Olenick of Philipsburg was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after he stole jewelry from a Phoenix Road residence in Rush Township between Dec. 14-18. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Thomas Jordan, who set bail at $10,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled.

State police at Ridgway
The investigation continues after an unknown man entered Walmart in Fox Township, Elk County, Wednesday at approximately 5 p.m., stole an item and left the store. He gave the item to a Woodland man, who took it back and returned it for a gift card.
