Third series of Clearfield wine to debut at wine festival
Thursday, January 17, 2013
The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. announces a third collaboration between Starr Hill Wineries and graphics designer Ian Aughinbaugh.
The series collector's edition "Clearfield" wine will debut once again at the Groundhog Wine Festival on Feb. 2.
Each year the benefit wine is available with a new label, and $1 per bottle purchased is contributed to the CRC/Main Street Program.
Main Street Manager Kellie Swales said, "Each year I look forward to seeing the new label from Ian, as he is so talented and creative with this project. We are thankful of this partnership with Ian and Starr Hill Wineries as this project brings attention to the best of what our area has to offer, which is what the CRC is all about. This wine could be a welcomed conversation favor for local businesses to give to clients throughout the year, and is perfect for large picnics, weddings and get-togethers."
"I always look forward to this collaboration for various reasons," said Aughinbaugh. "As an artist, it's rather enjoyable to come up with a new design depicting a different aspect of Clearfield each year, to show just how many aesthetics are overlooked from day to day. Each design slightly builds upon the previous year's design to tell a visual story. After creating last year's label, I decided to challenge myself to find a unique vantage point of Clearfield to use as the body of the design. 2013's label definitely displays that."
Aughinbaugh will be available at the Groundhog Wine Festival being held at the Expo II Building at the Clearfield Driving Park to autograph your collector's bottle.
"2013 Clearfield wine is one of our fastest selling charity wines, with a portion of the sales going back to the CRC and the Main Street Program efforts," said Kenn Starr. "We look forward each year to the design Ian Aughinbaugh puts together for the project and this year's Third Series Collector's edition is outstanding. Come to this year's festival and have a taste of Clearfield."
