Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre is having a garage sale in February. "We thought it might be kind of fun to have a garage sale at that time of year," said Ruth Loffredi, CAST executive director. "It's that in between time after the holidays and before spring and sometimes people like something different to do."
The sale will be Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
CAST welcomes contributions for it garage sale through Feb. 20. Items wished for include knickknacks, lamps, jewelry, dishes, stereos, toys, vases, records, radios, dolls, curtains, drapes, doilies, blankets, towels, small tools, tables, chairs, bookcases, kitchen items and any other good garage sale items, but no computer monitors or towers. If there are any questions about the garage sale or items wished for, phone calls are welcome in the CAST business office at 765-4474. CAST encourages people to donate their used clothing to local nonprofits that help those who might need used clothing.
Items for the garage sale can be dropped off inside the side door of CAST along Van Valzah Avenue just past the post office outside mailboxes.
"Our fundraisers are very important us," said a CAST spokesperson. "Since we don't get any funding from our county or borough governments and very little from the state, we must do fundraising just to keep our doors open. We're fortunate to be in an area where there are people who care about the arts and where there are people who support our fundraisers."
CAST is the area's nonprofit cultural center. It presents quality live theater and other entertainment events year-round and has classes in dance and music. The CAST website is
