Clearfield, P-O well represented on Mountain League all-star teams

TYRONE - The Mountain League announced its fall all-star teams at a banquet on Monday in Tyrone.
Philipsburg-Osceola boys soccer player Jay Prentice was recognized for being selected as an all-state goalkeeper, while teammates Alex Gray and Taylor Golemboski were first-team Mountain League selections. Fellow Mounties Lucas Kristofits and Nick Boumerhi were tabbed as second-teamers.
Clearfield's Nolan Barger and Jack Soult were first- and second-team selections, respectively.
On the girls' team, the Lady Bison had a pair of first team picks in Carlee Freeberg and McKenna Aleksivich, while Kara Thorp, Tessa Munshower and Raquel Grice made the second team.
The Lady Mounties had one pick on each team in Jordyn Powell and Maggi Ferguson, respectively.
P-O volleyball player McKenzie Burge was named the conference's Most Valuable Player, and was joined by first-teamers Kylie Scovern and Abby Showers for the Lady Mounties.
P-O's Morgan Williamson made the second team, as did Clearfield's Dakota Farmery and Amber Claycomb.
In golf, P-O's Andrew Reifer was the only boys' team selection, while Jessica Burns and Showers were selected on the girls' team.
Clearfield's Jordan Lehman was also named a girls' golf all-star.
The Lady Bison had a pair of cross country girls selected in Claire Mikesell and Courtney Smith with Jon Sponsler being Clearfield's representative on the boys' team.
Yesh Patel earned all-conference status in girls tennis.
