Our Town: Clearfield to premiere tomorrow night Wednesday, October 24, 2012 UNIVERSITY PARK - WPSU will premiere the 69th installment of the popular Our Town series when Our Town: Clearfield makes its broadcast debut tomorrow at 8 p.m. The Our Town series features the heritage and spirit of local communities as told by its citizens. Residents use their video cameras to show the personalities, places and history that make their town special to create a one-hour story to air on WPSU-TV. "What makes ‘Our Town' special is that we are giving communities the chance to tell their story in a very powerful way," according to producer Whitney Chirdon. "Public television is distinct in the media by providing a one-hour showcase to these small towns in Pennsylvania." Our Town: Clearfield will feature stories about the Clearfield County Historical Society and Museum, Clearfield County Fair, Ritz Theatre, local history and much more. Copies of the DVD will be offered as a thank-you gift for a membership contribution to WPSU during the live broadcast. The program will also be streamed live tomorrow on wpsu.org/live. As central Pennsylvania's public television station serving a very large geographic area, the "Our Town" project was developed in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WPSU-TV. The "Our Town" series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives and possibilities that local towns have to offer. "Our Town: Clearfield" will be the 69th production in the series. Previous programs have showcased many towns, including Meyersdale, Kane and Mt. Jewett, Bedford, Emporium, Nanty Glo, Curwensville, Bradford, Johnstown, Huntingdon, Mt. Union, DuBois, St. Marys, Lewistown, Warren, and Olean, N.Y.
