Center to host antique appraisals
Saturday, October 13, 2012
MAHAFFEY - Mahaffey Center for Active Living invites area residents 50 and older to the center to receive free antique appraisals Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. until noon. Pat Errigo, local auctioneer, will provide appraisals in the format similar to those done in the "Antiques Roadshow" program.
Errigo has been in the antiques business for close to 50 years. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Assoc-iation, the National Auctioneers Association and the Mid-State Appraisers Association.
Attendees are invited to bring one or two items to be appraised, but nothing larger than can be carried in two hands.
Curiosity seekers are invited also. You do not need to bring an item to enjoy the program.
There are no reservations needed; however, those interested in having lunch at the center, prior to the program, are asked to call the day before to make a meal reservation.
Any Clearfield County individual 60 or older may contribute to the cost of the meal on a donation basis.
The cost to those younger than 60 is $3.50.
Mahaffey Center for Active is located in the Mahaffey firehall, 958 Market St., Mahaffey, and is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Information on programs, meals and activities is available by calling the center at 277-4544 or 1-800-225-8571 or by visiting the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc. website at www.ccaaa.net.
Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the state Department of Aging, CCAAA, Mature Resources Foundation, and local and consumer contributions.
