Remembering Judge Reilly - Friends, family and colleagues of the late Judge John K. Reilly Jr. attended a special service Friday afternoon in courtroom No. 1 at Clearfield County Courthouse for the unveiling of a plaque honoring Reilly's decades of service to the county. Reilly served as court of common pleas judge in Clearfield County from 1974-2004, and served as senior judge from 2004-2010. He also served as Clearfield County district attorney from 1964-1974. Several people spoke at the service including attorney and Clearfield County Commissioner John Sobel, who said Judge Reilly had a profound influence not only on him personally but on how law is practiced in Clearfield County, and President Judge Fredric Ammerman praised his skill as a jurist. Judge Charles C. Brown Jr. of Centre County said he always cherished his friendship with Reilly. "I still miss him," he said. Also, Judge Paul Cherry said his father and Reilly were the two biggest role models in his life, and said this honor was a long time coming. Reilly died Sept. 12, 2011, at the age of 75.
