Clearfield goes 3-1 on weekend|

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP - The Clearfield fall baseball team went 3-1 over the weekend after sweeping Moshannon Valley on Saturday and splitting with Altoona on Sunday.
Clearfield bested Mo Valley 9-8 and 14-3 in five innings, and followed that up with a 12-4, Game 1 loss to Altoona and a 5-0 win.
Thomas Summers picked up the win for Clearfield in the shutout over Altoona, which registered just three hits in seven innings. Noah Cline and Christian Flood each doubled in the win.
Curtis Collins had a pair of hits for Clearfield in the loss to Altoona. Wyatt Westen was the pitcher of record for Clearfield.
On Saturday, Clearfield got two RBIs apiece from Matt Josephson and Josh Kennedy, while Cole Kephart added a double in the come-from-behind win. Kephart earned the win on the mound.
Mo Valley had just one hit in the second game, which Cale Walker won on the hill. Summers had a grand slam and a double, while Zach Timchak had three hits and three RBIs with Cline adding another double.
Cody Marshall and Jesse Martin took losses for Mo Valley, which got a triple from Josh Lannen on the first game of the doubleheader.
Clearfield is 5-2-1 on the season and will travel to Mo Valley on Saturday before hosting State College on Sunday.
Both games are doubleheaders that begin at 1 p.m.
