Man dies in vehicle accident

BANKS TOWNSHIP - One person is dead following a two-vehicle accident yesterday at approximately 6:45 a.m. on state Route 36 in Banks Township, Indiana County.
State police at Punxsutawney report Stephen Robert Yamrick was traveling north when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and was struck by a vehicle driven by Bryan Johnson, which was partially off of the roadway. Upon impact, both vehicles caught fire.
Yamrick died as a result of the accident. Johnson was not injured.
Mahaffey and Big Run fire departments and the state Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
