Graham Township Supervisors hold meeting
Friday, September 14, 2012
MORRISDALE - Graham Township Supervisors held their monthly meeting Monday.
It was reported that the ISO report came back with a new classification. Residential properties came in at a four and commercial properties at a five. The scale runs from one to 10, with one being excellent and 10 being very poor. The previous score was a nine. What this means is that residents of Graham Township qualify for lower insurance premiums on their homes and businesses. Residents are urged to call their homeowners insurance company and report the ISO change. Supervisor Steve Condo thanked Chairman Jeff Williams for his time and effort on this project.
A motion carried to approve the Robert Carr subdivision. The Dan Curley subdivision was presented, and it will be approved after being reviewed by Engineer Joel Albert.
Dave Shoening from the Neighborhood Crime Watch Committee urges residents to attend the meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. The Watch meeting will be exclusively for residents with issues regarding ATVs and the problems they cause. A panel of insurance agents, a state trooper and legal representative will answer questions and give advice on these problems. The meeting is open to anyone who wants to attend. There is limited seating, so participants may want to bring a chair.
A motion was carried to accept a quote from A&R Tree Service for "daylighting" 4.4 miles of Schoonover Road. The bid was $16,800. The work will start late this month for two weeks. This project will be funded by the Schoonover Road Turnback allocation.
The annual September Fest will be held at Big Run Park Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. There will be games, a Chinese auction, 50/50, food, flea market and music. Volunteers and donations are appreciated. For more information, call Sue Pase at 345-6793.
The annual Pinchy Tractor Parade is scheduled for Oct. 13 at noon. To register a tractor in the parade, call Jock at 345-6163. Tractor calendars are also on sale for $7 and are available by calling Kim and Rich at 345-4125. Calendars are also being sold at the township office and will be available the day of the parade.
Federal Emergency Manage-ment Agency approved the Graham Township adoption of the Clearfield County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, dated June 11, 2012. As such, Graham Township is now eligible to apply for federal disaster assistance until the plan expires July 2, 2017.
A motion carried to send seven township officials to the Clearfield County Association of Township Officials' Convention at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Allport, Oct. 5. The motion also approved to pay each official $50 for attending.
A motion carried to advertise the budget meeting for Oct. 24 at 10 a.m.
