Clearfield Area United Way held its fundraising campaign orientation meeting yesterday in preparation of the campaign to help 25 local member agencies. This year's goal is again $245,000, which was exceeded last year. Chief Professional Officer Nancy Pinto noted, "Our agencies help infants to elderly." Campaign letters are being sent out to past donors with personalized messages on them. The campaign kickoff luncheon will be Sept. 27 at noon at the St. Charles Café with keynote speaker Kathie Gillespie, the new director at Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging. Pinto also talked about the FamilyWize prescription drug program and encouraged anyone without prescription drug coverage to get a card. Cards are available through the CAUW office, at churches, pharmacies and from CAUW board members. There is no income limit or age limit to use the card. Attending the meeting were, in back, Michele Fannin, Nancy Lombardo, Kristi Johnson and John Shimko. In front are Brock Shaffer, Dawn Aughenbaugh, Debbie Bowser, Christa Aycock and Jeanie Jacobs.
