Police investigate burglaries
Wednesday, September 5, 2012
DUBOIS - Troopers from Pennsylvania State Police Troop C are currently investigating a string of burglaries that have occurred during nighttime hours in Clearfield and Jefferson counties within the past few weeks.
During this time frame, individual(s) have targeted three businesses and two churches and removed money and other property during the commission of these crimes. The methods utilized by the individual(s) are similar in each of these incidents. Someone disabled the electrical service meter at each location in an attempt to disable any burglar alarm systems. Entry was gained into the various structures by smashing a ground-level window.
Residents are asked to report any suspicious activity in or around businesses or churches, specifically any individuals tampering with electrical meters.
Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at DuBois at 371-4652 or state police at Clearfield at 857-3800.
