Two people die in accident in Rose Twp.

ROSE TOWNSHIP - State police at Punxsutawney report two people died in a two-vehicle accident yesterday at approximately 9 p.m. on U.S. Route 322 in Rose Township, Jefferson County.
Anthony Turner, 27, of Zanesville, Ohio, was traveling east at a high rate of speed and his vehicle traveled off the right berm. He attempted to steer his vehicle back onto the road and began swerving in the eastbound lane, it traveled into the westbound lane and struck the front of a vehicle driven by Pat Smith of Brookville.
Jefferson County Coroner Bernie Snyder pronounced Turner and a 1-month-old female passenger dead at the scene. Turner was wearing a seatbelt, and a child safety seat was properly used.
Smith and a male passenger were transported to Brookville Hospital for treatment.
Pine Creek Fire Department assisted at the scene.
