State police at Clearfield
The investigation continues in an alleged incident of cruelty to animals involving a 14-year-old boy Friday at 7:40 p.m. on Main Street in Bigler.

On Friday at 8:35 p.m., a hit-and-run accident occurred on Interstate 80 near mile marker 127 in Bradford Township. Someone driving a U-Haul box truck pulling a dark-colored sport utility vehicle on a tow dolly was traveling in the left lane and attempted to pass a tractor-trailer driven by a Georgia man. The U-Haul swerved into the right lane and struck the side of the tractor-trailer. The Georgia man began to slow down to pull over but continued to travel east when he saw the U-Haul wasn't going to stop. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 857-3800.

The investigation continues after a known 35-year-old Smithmill man restored power to his residence after the power company shut it off at a Gulich Township residence.

Troopers are investigating an incident of scattering rubbish. Someone used yellow No. 2 pencils to spell out the word "hell" and left a passage from the Book of Revelation from the Bible in the backyard of a Gulich Township woman Aug. 12 or Tuesday.

Donna Bogacki of Clearfield was traveling east on state Route 879 near Township Road 634 in Goshen Township Friday at 3:26 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left curve. Her vehicle struck an embankment and overturned. Bogacki was wearing her seat belt and suffered minor injuries. Goshen Township Fire Co. assisted police.

Two people were flown to the Altoona Regional Health System Saturday following a one-vehicle accident at 11 a.m. on I-80 in Lawrence Township. An Ohio woman was traveling in the left lane when she apparently fell asleep, lost control of her vehicle, it traveled off the north berm, struck the guide rail and spun around before coming to a rest facing west in the eastbound lane. She and her passenger, also of Ohio, were wearing their seat belts and suffered moderate injuries. Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and Lawrence Township Fire Department assisted.

Troopers are seeking more information after someone operated all-terrain vehicles on a property off of Keeywadin Road in Karthaus Township Saturday at 6:20 p.m.

Ryan Calvin Mathews, 16, of Houtzdale, who was reported missing Aug. 8 at 10:30 p.m., has been located.

Someone forcibly entered a camp at the end of Pinchy Road in Graham Township between Thursday and Saturday, vandalized it and stole numerous items. Anyone with information should contact police.

A one-vehicle accident occurred Friday at 2:50 p.m. on Mahaffey-Grampian Highway when a Rossiter woman was traveling north, failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of her vehicle.
It traveled off the east side of the road, struck an embankment and came to rest facing south. She and her three juvenile passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to Clearfield Hospital by Curwensville EMS.

A neighbor caught a beagle that was running in the 1400 block of Powell Avenue and police picked it up and attempted to find its owner. It was transported to a kennel, where it was given food and water. Its owner can claim it by calling 765-1533.

The investigation continues after someone directed a laser light into the cockpit of a landing airplane, Silver Air Flight 4070, from the ground at Clearfield-Jefferson Regional Airport in Washington Township, Jefferson County, Thursday at 9:08 p.m.

In an incident of harassment, a DuBois man allegedly struck another DuBois man in the face while they were engaged in an argument at a Salem Road residence in Brady Township Thursday at 8 p.m.

State police at Philipsburg
The wallet found along Old Erie Pike in West Decatur Friday that contains a driver's license belonging to Autumn Shoemaker can claim it by contacting police at 342-3370.

Robert Smith of Philipsburg reported someone stole a 2005 Suzuki LTA 700 King Quad ATV from his garage at 516 N. 10th St. between 9 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday. The person responsible pushed the ATV from the garage, through Smith's yard, across a neighbor's property and back onto North 10th Street. Anyone with information is asked to call the police.

On Saturday at 11:55 p.m., a Philipsburg man violated an emergency protection from abuse order. He arrived at a North Ninth Street location in Philipsburg, kicked the door open, and unlawfully entered the residence in an attempt to retrieve his children. The man got into a physical altercation with the residents and left on foot prior to police arrival. Once police were on scene, the man returned on foot and was taken into custody. He was placed in Centre County Jail.

A Julian man suffered moderate injuries Thursday at 6:20 p.m. when he lost control of his ATV while traveling west on Hall Road in Union Township. He was thrown from the ATV and came to rest in a ditch on the north side of the road. The man was wearing a helmet and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Troopers are seeking more information after someone entered through an unlocked door in a Philipsburg man's camper on Walnut Street in Philipsburg Friday at 3 a.m. and was rummaging through it.

State police at Ebensburg
A two-vehicle crash occurred Saturday at 4 p.m. on Marina Road near State Park Drive in Chest Township, Cambria County. Benjamin Kalwasinski of Portage was traveling east when his vehicle traveled into the westbound lane into the path of a motorcycle operated by Randy Jordan of Clearfield, causing him to lay the motorcycle down on its side. Jordan and his passenger, Patricia Kollar-Ross of Curwensville, suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene.
