Storm report released Saturday, July 28, 2012 According to Joe Bigler, director of emergency services for Clearfield County, heavy rains and high winds moved through Clearfield County at approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday. During the 12-hour time span from 4 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday, emergency services processed 132 911 calls and an additional 189 non-emergency distress calls. Emergency services responded to 147 incidents and 63 agencies responded to these incidents. The Emergency Services Department status level was elevated, bringing in additional dispatchers, complete 911 and emergency management staffing. An estimated 4,000 customers were without power at the peak of power outages, with no reports of flooding. Presently, there are approximately 2,500 customers still without power. Utilities services are working on outages to restore power to all affected. The Emergency Service Center had no disruption of services, and backup generators handled power losses at critical radio tower sites.
