Grand slams lift Philipsburg to 2-0 lead

BURNHAM - Tyler Good and John Shaffer each hit grand slams on Tuesday evening to help the Philipsburg Pirates beat Mifflin County, 11-3, in the first round of the Centre County League playoffs. Good went 3-for-4 in the game, while Shaffer and Matt Curtis both went 2-for-5.
Matt McCamley ripped a double for the Pirates in the contest. Josh Potter earned the win for Philipsburg. He pitched a complete game and gave up two earned runs on nine hits and struck out six Mifflin County batters.
With the win, the Pirates took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Game 3 is scheduled for tomorrow at 5:45 at Philipsburg.
