Lawrence planners approve requests
Wednesday, July 11, 2012
By Wendy Lynn Brion Staff Writer
The Lawrence Township Planning Commission last night approved a subdivision and a conditional use for properties in the township.
The subdivision is for Kenneth E. Sr. and Helen Rowles on Nelson Road and is actually a lot consolidation. A portion of the father's property is being added to the son's property and Clearfield County Planning already approved the plan. The Lawrence planning board did the same.
The conditional use is for Nick Patel, owner of Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites on Industrial Park Road. Patel plans to build the new hotel to a height of 50-feet, 9-inches, however the ordinance in the township allows for only 25 feet in height or 40 if the setback is larger. To go higher, Patel needed a conditional use agreement, which the planners granted so that he can move onto the next phase of his project.
The next meeting of the planning board will be Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. at the township building.
