Daily Police Log Tuesday, July 10, 2012 State police at Clearfield The investigation continues after someone forced open a front entrance door at Sutton's Bar on Powell Street in Hawk Run yesterday morning and damaged a cash register, causing approximately $1,000 damage. Once inside, the individual stole numerous items valued at approximately $1,000. Cody Allen James House of Frenchville was located in a shed at the scene and was taken into custody and arraigned on burglary and related charges at district court in Kylertown. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to contact the state police at 857-3800. --- Troop C state police members conducted a Checkpoint Strike Force Initiative in July on roadways within the county that have a high incidence of alcohol-related crashes. As a result of a sobriety checkpoint, police made three DUI arrests, one summary criminal arrest (underage drinking), 20 traffic arrests and issued two warnings for traffic offenses. --- Police charged Matthew Thomas Mahute of Hawk Run with disorderly conduct at district court in Kylertown after he allegedly made unreasonable noise on Whitman Street in Morris Township by playing loud music. Mahute was warned previously about playing music loudly and disturbing his neighbors. --- In an incident of theft, someone stole several items from Thor Trucking on Roaring Run Road in Bradford Township between 4:30 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. yesterday.
Clearfield Boro Officers responded to a domestic dispute on West Side; the situation was resolved. -- Officers received a call for a noise complaint where individuals were said to be setting off firecrackers. --- Officers received a call for a verbal domestic dispute, but the incident was resolved. --- Police were called to Ruch Street on Sunday for a verbal dispute between two neighbors over an air conditioner that was leaking water onto a porch. --- Police are investigating a complaint of terroristic threats that occurred on South Fifth Street. A known man threatened to slice the victim's throat. --- A Clearfield man was arrested for simple assault, harassment, and possession of drug paraphernalia after a domestic assault that occurred on South Fourth Street. The man was lodged in Clearfield County Jail and was arraigned Monday morning. --- Police responded to Martin Street for a fight between two brothers. The brothers were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a wrestling match. The one brother left the residence prior to police arrival. --- Police were called to a business on East Market Street when an employee threatened to cause damage to the business and the owner's vehicle. --- Police assisted Clearfield emergency medical services in gaining entrance to a residence on Arnold Avenue for a medical emergency. --- Police were called to a fight at an establishment on Nichols Street between several males. A Clearfield man was refused service and asked to leave. A verbal argument occurred which escalated into several punches being thrown. --- A flower planter was stolen from the porch of a residence on Guelich Avenue. --- Police handled three loud noise complaints.
Lawrence Township Police were canceled enroute after a township resident made 911 hang-up calls. --- A suspicious/disabled vehicle was reported at Lawrence Township Recreation Park. --- R.J. Corman was notified after police were called to a railroad crossing along Daisy Street Extension and U.S. Route 322 where lights were malfunctioning. --- The investigation continues into an attempted burglary at a residence on Legion Road. --- In an incident of retail theft at Walmart Supercenter, individuals stole items and fled the scene prior to police arrival. Police have video footage and a license plate number, and the investigation continues. --- An individual who called in regard to a civil issue regarding an eviction was advised to speak to a magisterial district judge's office. --- Lawrence Township Police Department was notified by Clearfield Borough police that they had a Clearfield man in custody who was wanted by township police. Officers responded and took the man into custody and transported him to Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland's office where he was able to pay the amount of collateral owed on the warrant. --- The investigation continues after a man on a Harley Davidson motorcycle allegedly drove behind another man's vehicle on U.S. Route 322 near Dairy Queen and harassed him. --- In a theft of services incident, someone placed garbage bags in a Dumpster belonging to Clearfield Area School District. --- A bear cub was reportedly running around on Montgomery Run Road. --- An intoxicated woman was allegedly walking on Washington Avenue, however, police were unable to locate her. --- The investigation continues into a report of harassment by communication. --- Officers received a report of interfering with the custody of a minor, and determined a girl ran away and was staying with a woman. --- Police are investigating a report of harassment at an area business. --- In a reported Internet scam, an individual was contacted about helping a refugee. Police advise residents not to give out personal information to individuals or organizations that they are not familiar with.
State police at Punxsy No injuries were reported in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday on U.S. Route 119 in Henderson Township, Jefferson County, where George Bowers of Mahaffey was traveling south when he traveled across the centerline for unknown reasons and into the northbound lane of travel. Bowers' vehicle struck a guide rail on the east berm with its front hood, fender and bumper.
State police at DuBois The investigation continues after someone went to Brady Township Community Park between 9 p.m. July 2 and 8 a.m. July 3 and wrote obscene messages and drawings on a park slide with a marker.
