Weekend Police Log Monday, July 02, 2012 State police at Clearfield Between March 15 and June 5 a Munson man allegedly stole Blue Point wrenches, a Craftsman base toolbox, two lemon squeezers from a concession stand, and a 10-inch and 16-inch pipe wrench from a Center Street residence in Wallaceton. The items are valued at a total of $800. --- Someone used explosives to destroy a newspaper machine on Old Erie Pike in Boggs Township. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the state police at 857-3800. --- Someone entered Bradford Cemetery in Bradford Township between June 24 and July 1 and stole various lights and a plaque valued at $138 from a gravesite. --- A black Motorola Droid cell phone was found lying along the berm of Interstate 80 at mile marker 120 westbound in Bradford Township on Saturday. Anyone who is missing this item is asked to contact the state police at 857-3800. --- The investigation continues after a known woman drove to State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale and police located suspected marijuana in her vehicle when a K-9 search was conducted.
Clearfield Boro Officers responded to a noise complaint on South Second Street. --- Police responded to an ongoing property dispute on South Second Street. --- A domestic dispute was resolved on East Fifth Street. --- Officers responded to Sheetz for the report of juveniles littering and refusing to leave the property. --- Police investigated the theft of an Xbox from a residence. --- Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on East Sixth Street in which a man and woman became physically aggressive with one another. They were taken into custody. --- Police served a warrant on a man for retail theft. He was located by the Curwensville Police Department. --- Officers received a call regarding an ongoing act of harassment by communications.
Lawrence Township The investigation continues after someone drove a silver Pontiac Grand Prix erratically on Crooked Sewer Highway and police obtained its registration. --- Police contacted the Lawrence Township Supervisors about a traffic light on state Route 879 flashing and causing a traffic hazard. --- Officers attempted to serve a warrant for state parole at a Hyde residence. --- Following an alarm at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church on Alliance Road, police responded and found the building was secure. --- The investigation continues into a report of bad checks at an area business. --- Two children were reportedly riding in a vehicle on Clearfield-Curwensville Highway without seat belts on. However, police were unable to locate the vehicle. --- No injuries were reported in a minor accident on Clearfield-Shawville Highway. --- An accident was reported on Washington Avenue. --- Police checked the welfare of an elderly motorist on Washington Avenue and determined she was suffering from dementia and was afraid to drive. --- In an incident of theft, someone gained access to a soda machine on Mill Road. --- The investigation continues into an incident of harassment by communication. --- A suspicious individual who was reportedly in the area of Drayer Physical Therapy and Northwest Savings Bank was gone upon police arrival. --- Police assisted a motorist with unlocking a vehicle at Lowe's Home Improvement Center. --- Reckless driving was reported on SR 879 in Wolf Run, however, police were unable to locate the vehicle involved in the incident. --- While on patrol, police located a vehicle occupied by a man and a woman at Lawrence Township Recreation Park and advised the individuals the park closes at dusk. --- Police located an intoxicated man walking along South Second Street who stumbled into traffic. He was stopped and later released. --- Suspicious activity was reported along SR 879, however, police learned the water authority was in the area doing work. --- A truck driver left his keys in his vehicle at Sapp Bros. --- The investigation continues after police responded to a burglary on Good Street. --- Officers made contact with a juvenile's mother after several 911 hang-up calls on Clark Street and she took his phone away from him. --- Police responded to a residence to check on the welfare of two boys and determined everything was OK. --- The individuals involved in a civil dispute over an animal were referred to the proper agencies. --- A possible traffic hazard was reported on Wrigley Street, however, police checked the area and found no immediate hazard. --- The investigation continues into two incidents of damage to an unattended vehicle or property at an area business. --- Police were called to assist two different individuals with unlocking their vehicles. --- Speeding motorcycles were reported in the area of Flegal Road. --- Following a residential alarm on Village Road, officers checked a residence and found it was secure. --- Police located two suspicious men walking in Hyde and learned they were township residents who were out for a walk. --- An individual who was reportedly yelling on Highview Road was located and advised to keep the noise down. --- Officers assisted another agency with a DUI incident. --- In an incident of harassment, a Clearfield resident received harassing calls from a township resident. Police handled the situation without issuing citations. --- Someone reportedly scattered rubbish along a highway. --- A woman who was left without a ride and stated the driver owed her money was advised debt and barter arrangements are civil issues not criminal issues. --- Police received a report of lost, stolen or mislaid property at Dollar General. --- The investigation continues into a possible burglary on Clarendon Avenue. --- Someone reported an incident of harassment by communication. --- Police checked and secured two buildings after alarms at Purcell Tire and another area business. --- The investigation continues after a reported burglary in Hyde. --- Officers assisted Clearfield Borough police with a traffic stop after a motorist did not immediately pull over. Residents are reminded to turn their music down, pay close attention to the roadway, and pull over in the nearest safe vicinity when approached by emergency vehicles. --- Someone recovered a Wellsboro woman's identification card at Dollar General. --- Police responded to a report of harassment by communications. They advised both parties to stop or face arrest. --- Someone reported a purse was found in the Hyde area. The purse came from a stolen vehicle. --- Police were called for a trespassing incident. They spoke to the individual who said the trespassing was accidental and said it wouldn't happen again. --- Someone reported a wallet that was found. Police notified the owner and informed him when he could pick it up. --- A noise complaint was reported on Bowman's Hill Road. Police spoke to those responsible and told them to stop for the evening. --- Police were asked to check on the welfare of a child. They spoke to the child's parents and found everything was OK. --- Police were called to Edgewood Apartments for a man attacking a pickup truck. Upon arrival, police learned a man had smashed all the windows out of his own vehicle. The man was calm when police arrived; he said he "lost" it after learning the pickup's transmission was broken and couldn't be repaired. Police ordered the man to clean up the mess and the incident was cleared. --- A known individual reportedly stole $200 from a victim on Clarendon Avenue. However, police could not interview the suspect because he is being housed in Clearfield County Jail on public drunkenness and was too intoxicated to be interviewed. --- Police assisted another agency with serving a warrant. --- A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Country Club area. Police spoke with the operator and cleared with no further incident. --- Police assisted the state police with a disabled tractor-trailer on Clearfield-Woodland Highway.
State police at DuBois The investigation continues into a burglary on Ontario Road in Huston Township where someone entered a camp between May 19 and June 30 and removed a Grizzly wood burning stove, a burn barrel, a cage to a 2010 John Deere bulldozer, 15-inch heavy duty tire rims, an oil storage container, rock guards for a 2010 John Deere bulldozer, DVD player and a VCR. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to contact state police at 371-4652. --- Two individuals entered properties along Mount Pleasant Road in Huston Township without permission on June 4 and June 5. The investigation continues.
State police at Philipsburg Charges of disorderly conduct were filed on a 23-year-old man as he made inappropriate comments that served no legitimate purpose to a 13-year-old girl at a residence in Port Matilda Borough on Wednesday. --- A blue and yellow MT Fury Road Master 15-speed mountain bike was found at the Hope Rec. Center, on Sixth and Alder streets in Philipsburg yesterday at 12:45 p.m. Anyone with information on a possible owner is asked to call police at 342-3370. --- Rocks were thrown through four windows of a shed along Walnut Street in Philipsburg between June 21 and yesterday. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 342-3370. --- On Saturday around 7:40 p.m., police were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash that occurred on state Route 550, south of Marengo Road in Halfmoon Township. The driver, James Lansberry of Lamar, was found to have multiple outstanding warrants and was taken into custody. Lansberry was found to be in possession of numerous empty glassine baggies with suspected heroin residue in them, a plastic baggie containing suspected bath salts, numerous syringes and a metal spoon with residue. Lansberry requested to be taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, for treatment of minor injuries. After being medically cleared and released by staff, he was taken to the Centre County Prison. He faces charges of driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as numerous traffic violations. The investigation continues. --- A two-vehicle crash occurred Saturday at 3:20 p.m. at the corner of Maple and Second streets in Philipsburg. Barbara Shufran of Philipsburg was traveling east on Maple Street when she failed to stop at the stop sign, hitting Freda Thompson of Philipsburg, who was traveling south on Second Street. Both drivers were uninjured and were wearing seat belts.
State police at Rockview A dark green Ford Ranger was observed doing donuts in the gravel lot of Ludwig's Sandwich Shop in Clarence on May 20 and then fled the scene. The investigation continues.
