Daily Police Log Wednesday, June 27, 2012 State police at Clearfield Someone used a sharp object to damage a swimming pool liner and trampoline at a Laura Street residence in Chester Hill Borough between June 19-20, causing approximately $700 damage. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to contact the state police at 857-3800. --- On Monday at 6:40 p.m., someone pumped $15.48 worth of unleaded fuel at the Sunoco Gas Station in Kylertown and fled the scene without paying for it. The vehicle was light-colored, possibly a sport utility vehicle. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to contact the state police. --- In an incident of bad checks, an Altoona woman allegedly issued a check for payment at Leyo's Market in Coalport Borough on May 14 knowing that she had insufficient funds in her account. --- A known juvenile was charged with harassment at 2 a.m. Monday after he allegedly punched another juvenile on James Lane in Bradford Township.
Clearfield Boro On Tuesday, officers assisted a lost motorist along South Second Street. --- Minor damage was reported following a hit-and-run that occurred Tuesday in the 300 block of Reed Street. No injuries were reported. --- The investigation continues into an act of harassment that occurred on Walther Avenue. --- Police responded to a disturbance at a South Fourth Street residence where a man and woman engaged in a verbal argument. The dispute continued outside, where a neighbor began yelling at the woman. Officers advised that all involved were to have no contact with each other.
Lawrence Township Police received a report of harassment by communication. --- A civil property dispute was reported to police. --- In an incident of harassment along U.S. Route 322 and Race Street, police arrived at the scene and resolved the matter without filing criminal charges. --- Officers searched a business area after a suspicious vehicle report and determined the vehicle belonged to a cleaning crew. --- The investigation continues into an incident of credit card fraud in which a Hillsdale resident was the victim of a scam. --- Police completed charges for an armed robber who was taken into custody early Tuesday morning.
State police at Philipsburg Two pigs were found running around Mulligan Hollow Road, Dale Road, Curtin Street and the Phoenix Road area in Rush Township yesterday. The pigs were located, contained, and have been transported to a farm with facilities to house the animals. Anyone with information regarding the owner of the pigs is asked to contact police at 342-3370. --- A man pushed and struck a woman along South Front Street in Philipsburg on June 14. --- A traffic stop was conducted for a speeding violation Monday around 1:30 a.m. on Interstate 99 near mile marker 68 in Patton Township. The operator, Ronald Morton of Williamsport, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Morton was also found to have an active warrant out of Wilkes-Barre. A passenger in the vehicle provided troopers with a fake name and date of birth, but was later identified as Parrish Rawles of Altoona. Consent to search the vehicle was granted. Police found approximately one-half ounce of crack cocaine, a plastic bag containing marijuana, a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia. Morton was taken into custody after confirmation of the warrant. He was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rawles was also taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and false identification to law enforcement authority. Both individuals are currently in Centre County Prison awaiting arraignment. The investigation continues. --- Cristin Blake of Philipsburg was traveling on South Mountain Road near Fowler Hollow Road in Taylor Township Sunday at 12:40 a.m. when she lost control negotiating a curve, striking a tree. Blake was uninjured. --- On Sunday at 3 p.m., a Grassflat woman and a Clearfield woman stole 50 items totaling $453.14 from Conklin's Corner in Rush Township. The investigation is ongoing. --- Stephen Kowalcyk of Cocoa, Fla., was traveling south on state Route 970 in Rush Township Sunday at 2:25 p.m. when he lost control while negotiating a left hand curve. Kowalcyk traveled off the west berm before striking a tree with the front right quarter panel, and then continued and impacted another tree. He was uninjured. --- Todd Cowfer of Philipsburg and a Philipsburg woman were involved in a verbal argument at 2:30 p.m. yesterday along Old Tyrone Pike in Rush Township when Cowfer pushed the woman into a wall. He was charged with one count of harassment at Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair's office. --- Between 9 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. yesterday, someone gained entry into a shed belonging to Helen Solt of Lamar on Allegheny Street in Unionville Borough and stole a 389-piece Craftsman Tool Kit and a five-gallon Sheetz diesel can with $20 of fuel. The total amount stolen is estimated at $428. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 342-3370.
State police at Ridgway Police stopped a 20-year-old Penfield man for a traffic violation on SR 255 in Fox Township, Elk County, yesterday at 2:25 p.m. and found he was in possession of alcoholic beverages. A charge of purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages was filed at district court along with several summary traffic citations.
