Man arrested for armed robberies
Tuesday, June 26, 2012
HYDE - A Glen Richey man was taken into custody last night after Lawrence Township Police Department responded to a reported burglary at Kwik Fill, located on South Second Street, at approximately 9:58 p.m.
Police report a man entered Kwik Fill Monday and demanded money while brandishing a handgun, and fled the scene. The suspect's description was obtained, and it was similar to that of a man who allegedly robbed Fuel On in Curwensville on Friday night.
Police found both robberies were committed in a similar fashion.
Lawrence Township, Clearfield Borough and Curwensville Borough Police later responded to a Glen Richey residence where they took a man into custody.
The man was arrested on a warrant for the Fuel On robbery, and upon investigation police learned the suspect was also involved in the Kwik Fill robbery.
He was arraigned before a magisterial district judge and is in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of bail.
No other information was available at this time.
