Weekend Police Log Monday, June 18, 2012 State police at Clearfield The investigation continues after someone entered a Loop Road residence in Boggs Township Saturday and stole a child's blue Yogi Bear wallet containing $165 in cash. --- On Friday at 1:50 p.m., a two-vehicle accident occurred in Glen Hope. Samuel Schauf of State College was traveling west on state Route 729, failed to stop at a stop sign and his vehicle struck a vehicle driven by James Kutruff of Coalport, was traveling north on SR 53. Schauf was not injured, while Kutruff suffered moderate injuries and his passenger, Phyllis Kutruff, suffered minor injuries. --- The investigation continues in an incident of theft that occurred between June 2 and Saturday. Someone removed 10 fishing poles, two tackle boxes with fishing equipment and a Honda electric boat motor, all valued at $390, from a pavilion off of Greenwood Road in Pike Township. --- Following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Pine Township Friday at 11:44 a.m., a Moosic woman was arrested for driving under the influence. She was transported to Clearfield Hospital for blood alcohol content testing. --- Charges of public drunkenness and criminal mischief were filed against Benjamin Ritchie , 32, of Osceola Mills. He was lodged in Clearfield County Jail after he allegedly caused a disturbance Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at a Shimmel Road residence in Graham Township where he threw a bottle at a kitchen window and ran into the woods. --- No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Friday at 3:22 p.m. on U.S. Route 322 in Bradford Township. Jack Dile of Hummelstown was traveling east, failed to see Virginia Irwin of Woodland slowing to turn right onto Rock Lane and his vehicle struck the back of her vehicle. --- The owner of a small, red, aluminum LED flashlight found on Knobs Road in Goshen Township Saturday should contact Trooper Jared Wolff at 857-3800. --- A one-vehicle accident occurred Friday at 11:55 a.m. when an Erie man was traveling south on Tyrone Pike in Beccaria Township. He failed to negotiate a right curve and his motorcycle exited the roadway. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered moderate injuries. --- Someone entered a Main Street apartment in Coalport Friday at approximately 2:30 p.m. and removed $240 in cash from a storage container and fled the scene. Anyone with information should contact police.
Clearfield Boro No injuries were reported in a hit-and-run accident on West Front Street. --- Retail theft at a Nichols Street business is under investigation. --- No one was injured in an accident on North Second Street. --- Harassment between neighbors was handled at the scene. --- The girl's bicycle found along North Fourth Street can be claimed at the police station. --- Two juveniles who reportedly attempted to steal beer from a cooler inside a truck bed in East End could not be located. While patrolling, an officer saw a boy fleeing form a pickup truck, and after a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody and transported to the police station. The boy was released to his parents. --- The investigation continues following a traffic stop in which the driver was found to be DUI. --- Officers assisted Lawrence Township police with a report of an unresponsive man along River Road, who was transported by Clearfield Emergency Medical Services to Clearfield Hospital.
Lawrence Township The investigation continues in a burglary Friday morning at an area business. --- Police were unable to locate a pit bull that reportedly chased a woman who was walking her dog. --- Extra patrols will be provided following a report of suspicious activity in the Hillsdale area. --- The investigation continues in a hit-and-run accident at Walmart Supercenter in which police reviewed video. --- In an incident of disorderly conduct, a juvenile allegedly lighting fireworks in the middle of Clarendon Avenue was gone when police arrived. --- The owner of a bike found behind Uni-Mart in Hyde can claim it by contacting the police at 765-1533. --- The investigation continues in a report of access device fraud. --- Police are investigating several reported incidents of harassment. --- Someone reported a traffic complaint in the Goldenrod area. --- Officers responded to a Country Club residence after Clearfield County Control received a 911 hang-up call and determined everything was fine. --- The suspicious man reported along SR 879 near Rite Aid left prior to police arrival. --- Officers assisted Clearfield Borough police with two separate incidents. --- The noise complaint along Park Avenue Extension was unfounded. --- The investigation continues after a vehicle traveled off the road and damaged a Knepp Road resident's yard, and the motorist was located by police. --- Someone entered a garage on River Road and took various items out of a car. --- An individual who was involved in a retail theft incident at Label Shopper was disorderly with employees and fled the scene when officers arrived, but officers stopped her vehicle. --- Individuals were interviewed in regard to an act of criminal mischief. --- Officers assisted another agency in searching a residence for a person of interest in a burglary; however, the individuals were not present at the time of the search. --- A single-vehicle accident occurred at McGeorge and Four-Mile roads, but no other information was provided. --- Police responded to a domestic incident and a report of disorderly conduct on Byers Street and spoke to those involved. --- In an act of criminal mischief, individuals in a black Jeep with Virginia registration allegedly threw smoke bombs and M-80s out the window as they drove west on Old Town Road. --- A two-vehicle, non-reportable accident occurred at Walmart. --- A township police officer was treated and released from Clearfield Hospital emergency room after being injured in an altercation with a woman in the Hillsdale area. Police responded to a residence to check the welfare of a woman who had reportedly locked herself in a house with a weapon, but she had already left when they arrived. The woman was found at another location and police attempted to talk to her. She became violent and assaulted the township officer and Clearfield Borough police officer who had also responded to the scene. The woman was taken into custody and placed in Clearfield County Jail to await arraignment. --- A traffic violation was reported to police. --- Police are investigating a complaint of ongoing harassment. --- Someone reported a medical emergency along Armor Street. --- No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on SR 879 when a DuBois man lost control of his vehicle, it struck a billboard, traveled down an embankment and struck several small trees. --- In an act of criminal mischief at T&J trailer court, officers have a person of interest after someone damaged a vehicle by spray-painting it. --- No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on SR 879 when a tractor-trailer pulled in front of another vehicle. --- Clearfield Borough police assisted along River Road, where an unresponsive man was transported to Clearfield Hospital.
State police at Philipsburg Between 8 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. yesterday, someone drove an ATV onto the Philipsburg B.P.O. Elks' property on Country Club Lane in Rush Township damaged it. --- Someone tried to break into an East Presqueisle Street apartment in Philipsburg Borough between 3-4 p.m. Saturday. The owner arrived home and discovered damage to the doorknob and door latch. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 342-3370. --- On Thursday at 9:50 p.m., a Maryland woman was not injured when her vehicle struck a deer on Interstate 99 near the ramp at exit 52 in Snyder Township. --- A 23-year-old woman pumped $20 in gas at the Snappy's on Front Street in Philipsburg and left without paying. --- Between Nov. 19 and Tuesday, someone broke into a Finleyville man's camp along North Run Road in Rush Township and removed most of the copper piping inside used for propane lighting. Those responsible damaged the walls while removing the piping. --- The investigation continues in an incident of DUI of alcohol or controlled substance Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. on SR 350 near Tubby Lane in Rush Township. Troopers made contact with a Corsica man along the berm of road and he showed signs of impairment and admitted to taking oxycodone. The man was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, for chemical testing.
