Clearfield Hospital celebrates service milestones
Wednesday, June 06, 2012
Clearfield Hospital held its annual Employee Recognition Dinner May 23 at St. Charles Café, Clearfield.
The purpose of the dinner is to honor all hospital employees, with special recognition given to those who have reached milestones in their employment. This year's theme was "Our Employees - We Salute You for Your Years of Service."
President Gary Macioce thanked the employees for their hard work and commitment. He said during his years working for community hospitals, he has found there is no substitute for dedicated, competent and compassionate employees.
"New technology, facilities and equipment are important, but what a hospital is really about is a dedicated workforce. And, that's what I appreciate most about community hospitals - dedicated, long-term employees who share a sense of pride in what they do. I hope to join you one day as a long-term employee of Clearfield Hospital," he said.
Macioce also shared a Henry Ford quote: "There is joy in work. There is no happiness except in the realization that we have accomplished something."
Referencing that quote, Macioce stated, "I hope that you all feel a special sense of accomplishment and happiness for your service to Clearfield Hospital."
David McConnell, chief financial officer for Penn Highlands Healthcare, addressed the employees and said he appreciates the sacrifices each employee makes for the betterment of the hospital and the patients it serves.
"No matter what your position, you play a vital role in making our patients feel welcome. You enable Clearfield Hospital to fulfill its mission of providing excellent care and outstanding customer service," he said.
