State police at Clearfield
Harassment charges were filed after a 33-year-old man reportedly assaulted an 18-year-old woman at the Fuel On along Susquehanna Avenue in Curwensville Wednesday.

Yesterday, a Houtzdale man was charged with theft after he reportedly went into his mother's closet and stole five $100 bills from her purse.

On Saturday, a Curwensville man was charged with simple assault following a domestic incident that turned physical at a Peoples Road residence in Pike Township.

The investigation continues in an act of criminal mischief when a bulldozer belonging to Lefever Excavating of DuBois sustained approximately $10,000 in damage Friday or Saturday along Midex Road in Goshen Township.

Gerald Beveridge of Philipsburg reported his cabin at 2311 Billotte Road in Girard Township was burglarized between May 12 and Saturday. Those responsible removed steel bars on a back window to gain access, cut and removed wires/plugs on two coffee pots, toaster and other household appliances, and cut the copper tubing for the propane heater and removed the trail camera. Estimated value of the thefts is $50 and damage is approximately $500.

Between May 1 and Saturday, someone broke into a vehicle parked on Colorado Drive in Houtzdale, Woodward Township, and removed items including a steering wheel, stereo, speakers, console and shifter knob, all valued at approximately $300. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 857-3800.

Yesterday, Beth Weatherson of Curwensville reported her vehicle was vandalized along Beech Street in Curwensville when someone scratched the hood and damaged the door locks.

No injuries were reported in a three-vehicle accident Friday at 2:45 p.m. on U.S. Route 322 in Decatur Township. A Morrisdale woman was driving east and was unable to stop for traffic in front of her and her vehicle collided with the back of a vehicle driven by William Crigler of Point Marion, forcing it into the back of a vehicle driven by Carl Kistler of Osceola Mills. All drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts.

Clearfield Boro
Officers assisted Clearfield Fire Department with a vehicle fire. A Clearfield man was driving on Turnpike Avenue, turned onto McBride Street and began to have mechanical problems with his vehicle and smoke was coming from it.

Someone reported individuals were possibly using an illicit substance and attempting to enter an unknown vehicle at an area business. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

A man who was reportedly attempting to hitchhike along SR 879 was picked up by Curwensville Borough police.

The man at a SR 879 business who was confused and had lost his vehicle somewhere on I-80 had been drinking and was taken into custody for public drunkenness.

Someone found a wallet in the borough that belonged to a Lawrence Township resident.

Harassment and disorderly conduct were reported along Libby Lane, where police found a woman had been drinking and harassing her neighbors. She was taken into custody, taken before Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland and was transported to CCJ on bail.

A man who was reportedly huffing dusting air at an area business was taken into custody for violating his parole.

Those involved in an incident of harassment by communication were advised to cease contact.

A man who was reportedly disoriented at Sheetz was found to be under the influence of alcohol, taken into custody and transported to CCJ, where he was placed on a 48-hour detainer, and a summary charge of public drunkenness was filed.

The woman who was outside screaming and yelling on Libby Lane was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody and placed in CCJ on a bail violation.

The investigation continues into an incident of theft by unlawful taking after a computer was stolen from an area motel.

A domestic disturbance on Coal Hill was handled at the scene.

Police assisted CCJ with transporting a prisoner who was having a medical emergency to Clearfield Hospital.

State police at Punxsy
The investigation continues after a known Dixonville man issued four checks to Burnside Handi-Mart from a closed account.

Following a traffic stop for operating an all-terrain vehicle on SR 36 and LaJose Road in Newburg Saturday at 9:31 p.m., a Barnesboro man was found to be driving under the influence.

Someone entered a barn along Patchin Highway in Burnside Township between May 27 and Thursday and removed a copper still. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 938-0510.

No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident yesterday at 3:45 p.m. on Winslow Road in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County. A 16-year-old Curwensville boy lost control of his vehicle as he was negotiating a curve on a stream of water across the road, it spun counterclockwise and struck a guide rail along the east side of the road.

DuBois City
Following a traffic stop Friday at 1:17 a.m. on New Street, the driver was arrested for DUI of alcohol.

On Friday at 2:13 a.m., police checked a vehicle parked in the middle of West Park Avenue with its flashers on and found passengers were consuming alcohol, and two people were cited for underage drinking.

The investigation continues in an act of criminal mischief in which someone damaged a boy's bicycle outside a First Street residence by flattening the tires, cutting the seat and breaking off the handle bars.

A woman reported she was receiving harassing text messages from her ex-husband, and there had been a history of domestic violence in their relationship. Police reviewed the text messages and the investigation continues.

On Saturday at 4 p.m., police witnessed a hand-to-hand drug deal while on patrol at City Park, made contact with the juveniles involved and their parents were contacted.

In an act of criminal mischief, police contact the parents of two known juveniles who used a BB gun to shoot out the windows at a residence Saturday. The alleged victim did not want to pursue charges.

Officers are investigating after someone stole a pool stick from a residence in the 100 block of East Scribner Avenue.
