State police at Clearfield
Yesterday at 7:02 p.m., a one-vehicle accident occurred in Cooper Township when Ryan Gaines of Morrisdale was traveling north on state Route 53. He lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a left curve, it traveled across the southbound lane and up an embankment and continued approximately 50 feet north. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment, overturned onto the road, traveled 50 feet north of the road while spinning and came to rest on its roof facing north in the southbound lane. Gaines suffered major injuries and was transported by Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services to Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Charges of harassment were filed against a Philipsburg woman who allegedly harassed another Philipsburg woman at a Chester Hill residence Saturday with the intent to alarm her for no legitimate purpose.

Charles Hazel of Houtzdale suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident today at 1:40 a.m. when he was traveling east on U.S. Route 322 in Decatur Township. He lost control of his vehicle when it struck a deer. The vehicle traveled off the south berm and into a ditch. Hazel and his passenger, Jessica Ritter of Philipsburg, who also suffered minor injuries, were transported by Moshannon Valley EMS to Clearfield Hospital. Reliance and Hope fire companies also assisted at the scene.

Clearfield Boro
During a domestic assault in East End, the person involved reportedly had a firearm, but was taken into custody without incident and transported to Clearfield County Jail to await arraignment.

The investigation continues after a theft involving three students at Clearfield Area Middle School.

A motorist who left Snappy's Convenience Store without paying for gas forgot to pay and returned a short time later.

Police investigated a theft by deception incident.

Officers were called to Deacon Road for an out-of-control juvenile.

Someone called the police in regard to a custody dispute.

Officers assisted Clearfield borough police with a domestic dispute where a man allegedly had a weapon.

A motorist locked their keys in their vehicle.

Police assisted a stranded motorist along SR 879.

No signs of a working fire were evident to police, who checked a building after an automatic alarm, and the scene was relinquished to fire personnel.

Sandy Township
The man reportedly walking down the middle of the road in the Watson Highway area was having psychological issues and was transported to DuBois Regional Medical Center. He later left the hospital and started walking to his original destination, but was again having problems and was transported back to the hospital.

A Wendy's employee reported a man came through the drive-through with an open container of alcohol, but he was gone upon police arrival.

Pilot employees reported a Michigan man who was in the parking lot with no clothes and asked a female to go into the store and buy him cigarettes was located at Holiday Inn Express. He stated he went to Pilot to get cigarettes and spilled coffee on himself, so he removed his clothes and asked someone to go in to the store for him. Witnesses declined prosecution.

Curwensville Boro
Police handled a noise complaint at a Walnut Street residence.

The investigation continues after a dog bit a woman and caused bodily injury.

Officers assisted Rescue Hose & Ladder Co. with a natural gas leak at Dick's 101 Pit Stop, and determined it was the result of an accident. A known woman was backing out of NAPA when her vehicle brakes failed, causing it to strike a gas meter and break it.

State police at Philipsburg
The owner of a revolver found in a wooded area near South Philipsburg in Rush Township yesterday can claim it by contacting police at 342-3370.

Troopers ask the owner of a black and gray Samsung cell phone found in the Curtis Park area May 16 to claim it by contacting police with proof of ownership.

On Thursday at 8 p.m., a Howard man suffered minor injuries when he was traveling south on SR 550 near Beckwith Road in Halfmoon Township and fell asleep. The vehicle crossed the northbound lane, traveled off the east berm, and struck a fence and utility pole. The road was closed due to downed wires.

Joshua Miller struck a known 30-year-old woman in the face near West Presqueisle and Front streets in Philipsburg Saturday at 2:30 a.m. Her face was severely bruised around her eye and she had a laceration on her cheek. Miller was taken into custody and transported to Centre County Correctional Facility.

The investigation continues after Mary Halsnik of Clarence was traveling south on Old Route 220 approximately one mile north of Unionville Borough May 15. Someone threw an unknown object from a vehicle traveling north that struck and cracked her vehicle windshield.

Between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. yesterday, several Philipsburg residents reported items that were stolen out of their unlocked vehicles while they were parked at their residence. The incidents occurred along South Second, Oak and Warwick streets. Items include cell phone and GPS chargers, change, blue Traxxis Stampede Nitro remote control toy truck, blue/silver HJC helmet, Under Armour sunglasses, blue SPY goggles, and a wallet containing a driver's license and Social Security card. Residents are advised to keep their vehicles locked when unoccupied and contact police with more information.
