Women's Health Task Force planning for spring event Friday, February 03, 2012 Members of the Women's Health Task Force of Clearfield County discussed plans for a spring event at yesterday's meeting at the Children's Aid Society's conference room. For three years, the group has sponsored a wellness walk in May in observance of National Women's Health Week. The first year the walk was well attended with more than 75 participants. In years two and three attendance has dropped off. Members discussed holding an event geared toward encouraging children to become active. There are a number of model programs including Michelle Obama's Lets Move and ChooseMyPlate.gov and suggestions for activities for a fun-filled morning may be taken from those or similar programs. More details about the date, time and location will be announced after the March meeting. In other business, the group authorized meeting at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center April 5, June 7, Sept. 6 and Oct. 4 because the Children's Aid Society's conference room is not available those days. WHTFCC is seeking new members interested in women's health issues and seeking ways to bring awareness to them. Anyone interested may attend the March meeting or contact Andrea Bressler at 765-7878 or e-mail her at awb1@psu.edu. The next meeting is March 1 at noon in the Children's Aid Society conference room, 1008 S. Second St., Clearfield.
