By Josh Mlot Sports Writer
The spring season has begun to draw to a close for collegiate athletes, with some teams continuing on to postseason action while others watch the playoffs from the dorm room couch. Here's a quick review of what some former Progressland student-athletes are doing this time of year:
Baseball
Corey Bookhamer, Duquesne: The 2009 Progressland Player of the Year has made two appearances during his freshman season for the Dukes, allowing no runs on two hits over 1 2-3 innings.
Duquesne took a three-game series from Richmond over the weekend, dropping Friday's game, 4-3 in 10 innings, before winning Saturday's and Sunday's games, 14-7 and 6-5, respectively. The Dukes (12-37) are back in action today hosting Akron.
Adam Jury, Slippery Rock: The former Clearfield standout had four hits, four RBIs and a double as The Rock went 2-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference double-elimination tournament April 28-May 1.
After dropping its first game to West Chester, 7-6, Slippery Rock rebounded to defeat Mansfield (18-9) and West Chester (9-5) in a rematch. The season came to an end at the hands of California (Pa.), 11-10.
Jury was also named to the All-PSAC Second Team after finishing the year with a .320 average and a team-high 41 RBIs. The junior started every game for The Rock, and ended the season on a 10-game hitting streak.
Kyle Kline, Penn State Behrend: Kline made an appearance as a pinch-hitter in the opener of a doubleheader against Frostburg on May 1. The Lions lost the game 15-0, but bounced back for an 8-3 victory in the nightcap.
Kline is hitting .224 on the season with five doubles and 12 RBIs. He has appeared in 23 games with 14 starts.
Behrend is back in action Friday in the opening round of the AMCC Tournament, where it will face Penn State Altoona.
Mike Moyer, Penn State Behrend: The former Bison last took the mound on April 27, throwing six strong innings to move to 3-2 on the season as the Lions dropped D'Youville 11-3 in the opener of a twin-bill. He struck out nine while giving up only three hits and walking two on the day.
Game 2 was a 9-0 win for Behrend.
Bart McGary, Pitt-Bradford: McGary closed out his career and cemented his legacy with a huge performance on May 1, opening a doubleheader sweep of Penn State Altoona - 9-6 and 11-5 - with three hits and two RBIs. McGary broke the Panthers' single-season hits record in the game. In Game 2 the Pitt-Bradford Male Athlete of the Year hit three home runs.
McGary finished the season batting .434 with 59 hits and 61 RBIs (also a single-season record).
The Panthers finished the year at 19-20.
Ben McGary, Pitt-Bradford: With the regular starters getting a rest in the final game of the season, the former Curwensville standout made an appearance in left field, going 0-for-2 in an 11-2 loss to Brockport State on May 4.
McGary saw most of his time on the mound, where he made 13 appearances, including one start, throwing 21 2-3 innings as a freshman.
Philip Solley, Pitt-Bradford: Solley picked up a hit and a run driven in during each of the doubleheader games against Penn State Altoona.
The senior catcher wrapped up his final season with a .327 batting average and finished second on the team with 32 RBIs.
Matt McCamley, Lock Haven: The redshirt junior was named All-PSAC Second Team after finishing second on the Eagles with a .370 batting average. He boasted team-highs in RBIs (53), home runs (eight) and doubles (nine).
Lock Haven finished the year with a record of 16-28.
Matt Curtis, Allegany: Curtis and his teammates dropped Cecil College, 20-10, in the District II Region XX play-in game Saturday.
Allegany (39-10) will now travel to Catonsville Friday and Saturday for the Region XX Tournament.
Softball

Alanna Luzier, Penn State Altoona: The former Lady Bison was 2-for-3 with a run scored, but her Lady Lions were ousted from the playoffs in a 16-7 loss to Medaille Saturday.
PSU Altoona (21-18) finished the AMCC Tournament with a 2-2 record, defeating Medaille, 3-2, in Friday's opener before dropping a 4-3 contest to Mount Aloysius. Saturday's action started with a 10-8 win over Pitt-Bradford in which Luzier grabbed a hit and an RBI.

Brittany Pataky, Lock Haven: Pataky was 1-for-4 with two RBIs as the Lady Eagles' season came to an end as they suffered two 5-4 losses to West Chester in the PSAC playoffs on April 23 and 24.
Lock Haven had won its first two playoff contests, 6-5 over Mercyhurst and 4-0 over West Chester.
Pataky finished the year batting .276 with 16 RBIs for the Lady Eagles (22-21).
