Sharks crown several KSL champions
Monday, February 22, 2010
HOLLIDAYSBURG - The Clearfield YMCA Pool Sharks traveled to the Keystone Swim League Championships at the Hollidaysburg YMCA Saturday, bringing home a handful of winners.
Paige Conrad was the big winner on the day, capturing three victories for the 9- to 10-year-old girls in the 50 free, 50 fly and 100 free. In the same age group, the boys got a win in the 50 back from Alex Coval.
Michael Spencer was the Sharks' other multiple winner at the meet, coming in first in the 200 IM and 50 back in the 11- and 12-year-old age group.
That group was the most successful, as the boys put Jadon McDermott in the winner's circle in the 50 free, and Claire Mikesell was a winner for the girls in the 50 free as well.
The youngest in the competition, at age eight and under, saw Luke Mikesell swim to the front in the 25 free.
Jordan Mumma picked up a win in the 15- to 18-year-old 100 free, while high school teammate Kraig Peterson topped the field in the open division 500 free.
