Clearfield Pool Sharks in action against Juniata Valley Monday, January 25, 2010 BURNHAM - The Clearfield Pool Sharks splashed down Saturday, traveling to take on Juniata Valley. Winners on the day started at the 8-and-under category, with Luke Mikesell (25 fly, 50 free, 25 back) and Makeeli Redden (25 free, 50 free, 25 breast) picking up three wins each for the boys and girls, respectively. Isaac Swanson was a dual winner, finishing first in the 100 IM and 25 breast, while Justin Maines added a first-place result in the 25 free. The 8-and-under girls took the 100 free relay as well, thanks to the team of Josie Narehood, Karter Bell, Karli Bietz and Tabytha Malloy. Paige Conrad was the big winner for the 9-10 girls, grabbing strong results in the 50 free, 50 fly and 100 free. Sydney Coval (50 back) and Paige Mikesell (100 IM), were also victorious. Conrad, Coval, Mikesell and Talitha Narehood combined to win the 200 medley relay. On the boys side, Alex Coval (50 free, 50 back) and Chase Bietz (100 IM, 50 fly) were twice winners. The Sharks left the pool with a gaggle of multiple winners from the 11- and 12-year-olds. For the boys, Jadon McDermott was a winner in the 200 free and 100 free, while Michael Spencer was the biggest individual victor on the day, dragging home four top spots - 50 free, 200 IM, 50 fly, 50 back. For the girls, Claire Mikesell took the 50 free, 50 fly and 50 breast, while Lydia Opalisky claimed the 200 IM, 100 free and 50 back. Clearfield will next compete against TyValley - Tyrone and Philipsburg YMCA teams - at Tyrone on Saturday.
