Clearfield beats Bradford Saturday, January 09, 2010 BRADFORD - Jayme Ryan and Angela Moore were on fire from behind the arc, and the Clearfield girls basketball team lit up host Bradford, 69-29, on Friday evening. Ryan led the Lady Bisons with 23 points, while Moore netted 15. Ryan was 7-of-9 from 3-point land, and Moore drained five of her seven 3-point attempts. Madison Sopic was also in double figures with 11 points. Amber Byerly added six points and ripped down 12 rebounds, and Gwenn Porter dished out seven assists. The Lady Bisons led 12-0 after one quarter and took a 31-11 advantage into the locker room at the half. "We played extremely well as a team," Clearfield head coach Joey Castagnolo said. "We passed well, shot well and ran the floor well." Clearfield improved to 5-1 overall and is 1-0 in the District 9 League. Bradford won the jayvee game, 33-27. Rachel Thompson scored 12 for the Lady Bison junior varsity, which dropped to 3-3. Clearfield returns to action Tuesday, hosting Brookville.
