Volunteers sought to prepare taxes
Wednesday, December 30, 2009
Central Pennsylvania Community Action is preparing for its sixth year of free tax preparation. Last year, the Clearfield County Money in Your Pocket program served 254 families and individuals with filing their income tax returns at no cost. Providing this service kept more than $275,063 in the community.
Clearfield County Money in Your Pocket is searching for volunteers interested in helping individuals and families of Clearfield County with free tax preparation. Volunteer opportunities include greeters, screeners, tax preparers and quality reviewers.
The program will be operating Mondays in Curwensville, Tuesdays in Philipsburg, Wednesdays in Clearfield and DuBois, and Fridays in Irvona. Volunteers can do as much or as little as they choose. Free training is provided by the Internal Revenue Service.
For more information on how to help, call Gail Webster at 765-1551 or 1-800-822-2610.
