State police in DuBois
Larry R. Rubly Jr. of Penfield was traveling north on state Route 153 in Huston Township about two-tenths of a mile south of Mud Run Road on Nov. 2 when he fell asleep while driving.
Police said his vehicle left the right side of the road and jumped across a culvert, striking the opposite embankment of the culvert. The vehicle slid to a final rest partially down the embankment.
Rubly and his passenger, Austin O. Rubly, also of Penfield, were not wearing seatbelts and both suffered minor injuries. They were transported to DuBois Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A vehicle traveling north on SR 255 in the village of Hollywood traveled onto the right berm to give a school bus room when the vehicle struck a low hanging power line and ripped the power line and a meter box from a home. The power line then tripped a breaker on the next pole and caused several residences to be without power. The power line fell across the road and caused the road to be closed until power could be restored.
Penfield Fire Co. and Penelec assisted police. There were no injuries.

Sometime between 12:15 and 8:20 a.m. Monday an unknown actor(s) pried open a door at The Bear Claw Inn in Winslow Township. Inside, the cash register was thrown to the floor and the plug was ripped from the wall. The actor(s) then removed the cash drawer and broke a window. They fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means.

A mailbox belonging to Terry E. Maher of Rattlesnake Road in Brockway was damaged by a blunt object between 2 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 371-4652.

A DuBois woman reported that she lost about $300-$400 in cash while shopping at the DuBois Mall Monday.

Someone struck a vehicle owned by a 78-year-old Benezette man Tuesday while it was parked at Wal-Mart. The individual then fled the scene.

Three known juveniles left Red Lobster without paying their check Tuesday. Police are investigating.

A 39-year-old Punxsutawney woman was cited for public drunkenness Tuesday after she was found staggering along S. Brady Street.

An 80-year-old Weedville man and an 18-year-old Reynoldsville girl were involved in a minor accident Wednesday in the Walmart parking lot. There were no injuries, and damage was minor.

Charges will be filed against a 17-year-old Treasure Lake girl after Walmart employees saw her concealing DVDs and attempted to leave without paying for them.

Police received a report of dogs barking constantly Wednesday at a Kerr Street residence. The situation was handled without incident.

On Wednesday, Treasure Lake security turned over a red handbag containing drug paraphernalia that was found near the back gate.

On Thursday, a 19-year-old DuBois male pulled from a stop sign at Larkeytown Road into the path of a vehicle operated by a 54-year-old Falls Creek male who was traveling on Slab Run Road. The Falls Creek man was transported to DRMC for treatment.

A Cain road woman reported her mailbox was damaged Thursday.

DuBois City
Two juveniles were suspected of shoplifting at BiLo on Nov. 6. Police were called to the scene, and the manager told them he and two other employees were watching the two juveniles put items under their clothing then leave without paying.
When the males were stopped after exiting the store, they were in possession of two packs of gum, two Monster Energy drinks, four Bic lighters and a two-pack of Sharpie markers. Charges of retail theft will be filed. The juveniles were turned over to their parents.

Police responded to a reported domestic incident Monday on the 500 block of Maple Avenue. When police spoke to the complainant, she said the male left the location in her vehicle.
Police spotted the vehicle on Sunflower Drive at its intersection with Maple Avenue. The man was stopped, and he said he and his wife were at marriage counseling; he said he was tired of the complaining, so he left her there.
Upon returning to the scene, the woman said she didn't want the man driving her car. She was advised to go with him, or he would leave her there. She then said she was just trying to make a point and apologized for calling the police.

Police on patrol Monday found two juveniles under a pine tree on the Litts Club property. They were identified then told to clean up their trash or be cited. One boy was then transported to DuBois Area High School and was handed over to the school resource officer.

Criminal mischief was reported Monday on the 200 block of North Church Street. Police said a woman reported two men were towing a vehicle and ran over her landscape ties. The men said they would fix them, and no further action was required.

A woman reported damage that was done to her vehicle while it was parked at DuBois Area High School Monday. She reported it in case there was a way to review surveillance footage. The information was turned over to the school resource officer.

A woman reported to police that the tires on her husband's vehicle were slashed Monday, and she said prior to that she and her two small boys had a toy gun pointed at them by two juvenile boys.

Police responded to a fireworks complaint Monday at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Third Street. When police arrived, no one else was there.

DuBois City and Sandy Township police escorted two oversized windmill loads from SR 255 to SR 219 on Monday without incident.

Police observed a male in a black jeep failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Ridge Street and West Long Avenue on Monday. When the man was stopped, police noticed that his breath smelled of alcohol.
The man was taken to DRMC to have blood drawn. He was arrested for driving under the influence and was turned over to his wife.

A two-vehicle crash occurred Monday when a Mitsubishi Mirage, which was stopped on South Main Street waiting to turn onto Hospital Avenue turned into oncoming traffic after a vehicle behind the Mitsubishi honked its horn.
Police said the Mitsubishi then turned into the path of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which could not stop in time. The driver and the passenger of the Mitsubishi were taken to DRMC for treatment. The DuBois Fire Department and DuSan AmServ Ambulance assisted police at the scene.
