Clearfield Boro A theft was reported when someone removed money from a soda machine at a local business. --- A suspicious vehicle was reported on West Side. --- Police were called to check on a suspicious man in the south end of town. --- A single-vehicle accident was reported on North Second Street. --- Officers were called to check on a suspicious vehicle in the south end of town. Lawrence Township A burglary was reported at a Flegal Road business where someone gained entry by prying the lock on the door. --- Police report that a radio solicitation program, suspected to be a scam, is legitimate. However, officers noted that a purchase is necessary to receive the vouchers for savings of $1,000 in groceries. --- A Lancaster man was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. --- Officers responded to a structure fire on Robison Avenue in Hyde. Upon arrival, police found smoke coming from structure and the owner was extinguishing the fire with a garden hose. The Hyde Fire Co. arrived and handled the situation. --- A traffic violation was reported on the Glen Richey Highway. --- Police provided traffic control on state Route 879 while a disabled tractor-trailer was moved from the roadway. --- The investigation continues into the theft of money from a purse at Edgewood Apartments. --- A hit-and-run was reported in the Clearfield Mall parking lot near Long John Silver's. State police at Punxsy Two DuBois men suffered minor injuries in an accident that happened Sunday on SR 36 in Barnett Township, Jefferson County. A vehicle driven by Kenneth Stubbs of DuBois was stopped on the roadway, waiting to turn into a driveway. Charles Fisher of Indiana was traveling south on SR 36 and struck the Stubbs vehicle from behind. The Stubbs vehicle traveled approximately 25 feet after impact, while the Fisher vehicle traveled 10 feet. Two passengers in the Stubbs vehicle, David Macak and John Fortsch, both of DuBois, suffered minor injuries. Fisher and his two passengers were not injured.
State police at DuBois No injuries were reported in a single-vehicle accident that happened Wednesday on East Main Street in Sykesville. Casey Krach of DuBois fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a large brick planter. Colby Krach, a passenger, was also uninjured.
Curwensville Boro Prescription medication was reportedly stolen from an apartment in the Curwensville House on Tuesday. --- Several eggs were reportedly thrown at a red Chevrolet Cavalier parked in the Northwest Savings Bank Friday evening. --- A Curwensville man was cited for public drunkenness following an incident that happened at Richard's Bar on July 24. The man had fallen and suffered head injuries due to his intoxication. He was taken to the Clearfield Hospital for treatment. --- A second Curwensville man was cited for public drunkenness following a Sept. 4 incident when police found the man passed out on the bridge spanning Anderson Creek on Susquehanna Avenue and Filbert Street. Officers were unable to wake the man due to his level of intoxication and he was taken to the hospital. --- Police will provide traffic enforcement in the area of Bloomington Avenue following several reports of speeding vehicles. --- A Curwensville man was found to be DUI following a traffic stop this morning at 1 a.m. --- An aluminum extension ladder was found on South Street. The owner may claim the item by calling police.
State police at Philipsburg Police responded to a complaint of criminal mischief Wednesday on Front Street where two teenagers were seen tearing flowers out of ornamental plots along four blocks and tossing them into the street. Anyone with information should contact state police at Philipsburg at 342-3370.
