New comic strip "Tundra"begins today
Monday, September 29, 2008
Despite its long run in The Progress, the comic strip For Better or For Worse by Lynn Johnson is being replaced.

Ms. Johnson recently announced she would conclude her strip and revert back to the beginning, repeating her strips while intermittently using new material.

The Progress decided to replace it with a fresh strip called Tundra.

Often compared to The Far Side, Tundra is one of the fastest growing comic strips in the United States and Canada.

It is an outdoors and nature-themed strip that features fun characters such as Andy the lemming, Dudley the bear and Sherman the squirrel.

The cartoonist, Chad Carpenter, hails from the Alaskan wilderness.

Tundra should be well received by Progress readers because of the frozen outdoors theme of the strip which all Pennsylvanians can relate to.
