In the early morning hours of July 12, authorities responded to a fire at Ms. Offutt's Sykesville home. After the fire was extinguished, the remains of a baby, believed to be Ms. Offutt's 6-week-old son, were discovered. Ms. Offutt and her car, a red Saturn with Virginia license plates, were missing. Police found the car four days later in State College, parked at the Nittany Gardens apartment complex where Ms. Offutt had previously lived. Her other two children, who were not home at the time of the fire, are safe and living with family.

In the nine months since Ms. Offutt has been missing, she has missed her oldest daughter's birthday, her own 34th birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, along with the countless daily milestones achieved by her growing children. Her family misses her and her daughters need their mother.

Investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police have had no substantial leads in the case. Ms. Offutt's family is hoping that by offering the reward, someone with information will decide to come forward with what they know.

Ms. Offutt is 34 years old, approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall, with a thin build, and she has brown eyes and brown hair. She may or may not be wearing glasses.
