PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to the “Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act” and the “Clean Streams Law” notice is hereby given that Harbison Walker International, Inc., 1305 Cherrington Parkway, Suite 100, Moon Township PA 15108 has made application to the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to renew its existing surface mine permit and related NPDES permit (PA0220043). The current Mining Permit #4475SM10 was issued February 28, 2015 and will expire on February 28, 2020. This renewal does not contain revisions to the existing operation. The receiving stream for the permit area is an unnamed tributary to Upper Morgan Run, tributary to Clearfield Creek. The operation is located in Woodward Twp., Clearfield Co. and is known as the Sanborn Quarry (a/k/a Sanborn Mine). The permit area is 12.0 acres and is situated near the southeast corner of the intersection of township roads T-580 and T-569, with site access from T-580 about 650’ south of the intersection. The 7 1/2' Glen Richey U.S. Geological Survey topographic map contains the area described. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Clearfield Co. Conservation District, 6395 Clearfield Woodland Highway, Suite 2, Clearfield, PA 16830. Written comments, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the DEP, Moshannon District Office, 186 Enterprise Drive, Philipsburg, PA 16866 by November 24, 2019, and must include the person’s name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection(s).
