PERMIT RENEWAL

Pursuant to the Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act and Clean Streams Law, notice is hereby given that River Hill Coal Company, Inc., P.O. Box 141, Kylertown, PA 16847, has made application to the Department of Environmental Protection to renew the following existing surface coal mine permit for reclamation only and renew the related NPDES permit:

The 234.5 acre Mid Penn #1 Operation, SMP #17990107, located in Bigler Township, Clearfield County, approximately 1.5 miles west of the village of Belsena Mills, and south of SR 3007, as shown on the Ramey, PA USGS 7.5 Minute Quadrangle map, on the properties of Mid Penn Coal Company, Bond L. Schreffler Jr., and Bill B. & Shelvia J. Doran. The receiving stream for this operation is Pine Run to Clearfield Creek. The current permit was issued July 5, 2001 and will expire on July 5, 2021.

A copy of the Permit Renewal application is on file for public review by appointment only at the Clearfield County Conservation District, 6395 Clearfield Woodland Highway, Suite 2, Clearfield, PA 16830.

Written comments, objections, or a request for a public hearing or informal conference concerning this renewal application should be submitted to the District Mining Manager at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Moshannon District Office, 186 Enterprise Drive, Philipsburg, PA 16866 no later than thirty (30) days following the final (4th) publication of this notice, and must include the person's name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection(s).
